Our Story
We moved to Galgeth in August 2017 with the aim of having a holiday let that was as "off grid" as possible in this area. We started to converted The "Moo"tel in September hoping to be ready for the next summer season. A brand new kitchen and bathroom were installed and the pullout sofa bed was added to the lounge. The Old Byre just needed some finishing touches and we were ready to start letting. We installed wood burning stoves in both barns which is a comforting bonus on a cold winters evening in Cornwall and also a very efficient heat source to cut down on the use of fossil fuels. Our water is supplied from a underground spring which is fed into a borehole and then through a filtration system straight to your tap (it couldn't get much fresher). Our new addition in 2020 is the eco friendly wood fired hot tub. These hot tubs have been on our list from the start, what more could you want than siting in a warm wooden bath over looking the surrounding countryside. Why choose a five star hotel when you can have five million stars right above you. A truly magical experience which will create memories to last a lifetime.
The Farm
Whether you can technically class us as a farm or not we have plenty of animals to keep us busy including 7 horses, 2 cats, 3 dogs and the odd hen or two so we can't promise a completely quiet stay but we hope that all the animals will be on their best behaviour when your here, they would be happy to meet you whilst your on holiday just let us know and we can arrange a time.

"Gorgeous little place, kitted out with quality furniture and accessories, everything you could want or need. The welcome basket was a lovely extra, especially the doggy beer. Also a quality dog bed, blanket & bowl. Loved having the horses as neighbours as did our pooch. Surrounded by beautiful lanes and fields. We loved it and will definitely return. Great hosts too really friendly and lovely to chat with."

"A lovely converted barn on a farm in the country—a beautiful landscape to see each morning." Katie February 2019
"Wow! What a beautiful place.
The cottage was just stunning and laid out prefect for our family of 5
beautiful views, lovely villages and stunning walks all around.
This year has been very hard so we did a last minute get away only around the corner from where we live but it didn't matter to us as it was in the country side and away from our normally daily life.
We stayed for 4days and 3 nights its was just what we needed to end this hard year! We sat by the fire and cuddled up all cosy and finished off celebrating the new year with our family in the incredible hot tub
Highly recommended!
My 3 girls loved it and Hannah let them see and groom the horses which made their time at Galgeth Barns even more special! Will be back soon when we can"

"A lovely comfy space, a true countryside gem and a home away from home. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area"

"Good central location to allow you to visit various areas/beaches less than an hour away from St Ives/Newquay/Plymouth/Looe. The view you will see from the main front garden will surprise you with it's beauty and will relax you instantly. The farm atmosphere of the house is very warming especially as all the animals seem friendly (dogs+cats+horses+chickens) go out on to Moors at night and you will be sure to see other wildlife. I would recommend this place to other families or couples who want a truly quiet, comfortable back to nature break/holiday" Mark August 2018
"The most perfect stay for myself, my partner and our dog! The cottage was beautiful and far more spacious than the photos let on.
The host are extremely welcoming and will go above and beyond to make you feel at home.
The highlight of our stay was getting to meet the horses!
Thanks Hannah for being so accommodating and bringing the horses to meet us!"
